About National Cancer from the Sun Awareness Month
Summer Sun Safety Month actually occurs each month during the summer, June, July and August. However the American Cancer Society lists August as its Sun Safety Month. During this month people are encouraged to practice sun safety by wearing sunscreen, avoiding burns, using UV protection sunglasses and keeping hydrated. Summer Sun Safety isn't just about sunburns. It's also about guarding against heat stroke and other issues that come from too much exposure to sunshine and heat.
