HOW TO USE THE LEEP
  1. Why can't I see the dates on the website? TOP

    Dates, category information, frequency and previous year's dates are features made available to paid subscribers of the LEEP Calendar. Non-subscribers can view the names of the events and the categories but the rest of the information, including the ability to import dates into your calendar program require a paid subscription.

    You can sign up for a 7-Day Free Trial. This will give you full access to the LEEP Calendar and all features with the exception of the import dates function and the printable/interactive PDF of the calendar. These features require a paid subscription.

  2. Why can't I import the dates into my calendar? TOP

    The ability to import dates into your personal calendar requires a paid subscription.

  3. Why do only some of the events have descriptions? TOP

    There are over 3800 individual dates in the LEEP Calendar. We decided to launch without the event details so you could use the full calendar for planning in 2014. Over the year, we'll be writing the details to each event. We'll also be adding more features.

  4. Why am I unable to sign up for a free trial? TOP

    If you've signed up for a free trial in the past, you will not be able to sign up again. We keep records of IP address, names and emails of Free Trial Subscriptions. If you're unable to sign up, you're information is already on file.

  5. What is the difference between the iPad/iPhone APP and the LEEPCalendar.com APP TOP

    We use the same database for both. It's just a different platform. The Web version comes with the PDF version of the paperback and allows you to import entire categories or individual dates into your calendar program. It also includes the descriptions and other details not in the Apple Apes. This is the reason for the difference in price. The web version is more robust and has more features.

  6. Where do the dates come from? TOP

    There are thousands of sources involved in creating this book and months of work. Dates come from news stories, US and other nation's governments, various non-profits, NGOs, professional organizations, historical events, customs and particularly for the silly holidays, the Internet. We also have people e-mail in events, which we verify. For 2013 we've included URLs for each listing to assist you in learning more about that event, its promoters and its history.

    In some instances when prominent people have died within the past year we've created dates to honor them on either their birthday or their death. In the 2013 version Nora Ephron, who passed away in June 2012 is honored on her birthday in May with Romantic Comedy Day. The legendary author Ray Bradbury who also passed away this year is given Ray Bradbury day on the 1st anniversary of his death. Both people were significant in creating art that greatly influenced American and global culture. Should congress decree a national day of honor for either, we will not know until a few weeks prior to these anniversaries.

  7. Calendar available as an APP? TOP

    Yes! Version 1.1 is now available in the Apple Apps store for iPhone and iPad.

    LEEP Lite: This FREE version of the APP is designed for the casual user who does not need to do marketing, editorial or promotional planning for business. It allows you to add some of your own dates and gives you glimpse of that week's events and the one prior. If Apple approves the inclusions of source URLs with the listings, you'll also be able to link to that events history, story, sponsor or other information from your wifi enabled device. If they do not, this functionality will be available in the APP versions for non-Apple products due out at the end of this year.

    LEEP Professional: The robust professional version of The LEEP application is designed specifically for the professional marketer, publicist, event planner, journalist, teacher and blogger. It includes everything available in the LITE version plus. LEEP Pro allows you to add unlimited dates from your own calendar, sync with your calendar of choice, scan 12 months in advance, create bookmarks and reminders, push notifications, keyword and category searches. It also includes a download of the PDF version of the book and the Wall Calendar once registered, instant updates and other productivity enhancing tools.

  10. Why is it called 'The LEEP'? TOP

    LEEP is an acronym for Lewis' Event, Editorial Promotional. It's a lot easier to say (and remember) than the official name: Laura Dawn Lewis' Event, Editorial & Promotional Calendar.

  11. How do I return my LEEP if I don't like it? TOP

    This return policy applies to this site. If you purchased through another vendor like Amazon, Barnes & Noble or others, you'll need to contact the retailer and find out their return policy.

    If you purchased a book or ebook through this site, we offer a 60-day money back guarantee on book and ebook purchases made through this site. There are no refunds for LEEP Calendar subscriptions. If you do not wish to be billed at the end of your free trial or for the following year, login to the site, go to Your Account and click the “Cancel Membership” button in the upper left corner of your dashboard.

  12. How do I submit an event for consideration in the next LEEP Calendar? TOP

    Click on the Submit Event tab in the navigation bar on the top of the page.

  13. How do I notify you if I find an error in the book or APP TOP

    Errors do happen and dates do move. Please CONTACT US immediately so we can let our readers know of any changes.

  14. Is the LEEP available in other languages? TOP

    Not yet but we hope to have multiple versions in the years ahead, beginning with Spanish and Portuguese, since Miss Lewis speaks these.

  15. Where did the idea for the LEEP come from? TOP

    I was working on our editorial calendar for Couples Company and was spending hours and hours trying to find appropriate dates. I started keeping them in a spread sheet and within a few months realized I might as well do them as a book so they'd be handy. What I thought would be a 4 week project took 10 months and thousands of hours so the LEEP was born. Though there are free online sources with some of this information; I still spent a lot of time verifying and cross-referencing and found various sites were often in conflict with each other on many of the dates. Figuring out which site was accurate and which was not, there was no consistent source. When I realized that there wasn't a cost effective and affordable source of these dates available that was authoritative and regularly researched, I expanded the research and parameters and decided to create the full product suite.

  16. I can't open the PDF. What do I do? TOP

    You probably have an old version of Adobe Acrobat. You can download the latest version of the software for free by clicking here. If updating your software doesn't fix the problem, Contact us and we'll work through it with you. For whatever reason, Adobe PDFs will at times corrupt themselves for no reason and they cannot be opened. This can happen to a PDF you already have as well. Should your LEEP fail to open or become 'corrupted', simply CONTACT US and we'll send you a fresh file.

  17. Do you offer bulk discounts? TOP

    We have 17 people on our sales staff and I'd like to get each a copy of the LEEP.
