February is Burn Awareness Month.png
Burn Awareness Month was originally proclaimed in 1987 by the federal government. It continues to be observed throughout the United States by a variety of institutions including hospitals, schools and other organizations where burns can easily occur. This month is dedicated to the prevention of burns and the treatment of them should they occur. There is also Burn Awareness Week during the first full week of February, which is sponsored by the American Burn Association: http://www.ameriburn.org
