About Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Prevention Awareness Month
Since 2003 the Coalition to Prevent DVT has sponsored Deep-Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Awareness Month in March focusing on creating awareness of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and its potentially fatal complication, pulmonary embolism (PE), killer blood clots. The risk of DVT and PE increase with age, anyone can be affected by deep vein thrombosis and/or pulmonary embolism. Serena Williams, the professional tennis player suffered a pulmonary embolism. This disease affects people of walks of life.
