About Foot Health Awareness Month
National Foot Health Awareness Month occurs each year in April. If you’ve ever had a job where you’ve had to work on your feet, you know there is nothing worse than foot pain. But did you also know that as you age, the size of your feet changes? The most common changes occur in the arch, which provides your balance. And the width. You may have had a narrow foot in your 20s and 30s, then suddenly realize in your 40s they’re starting to get tight. That’s normal. Podiatrists suggest, even as an adult, you get your feet measured twice a year to make sure your shoes fit properly.
Real problems arise when your shoes don’t including pain in your hips, back, neck and headaches, not to mention your feet. Women are particularly vulnerable to bunions due to wearing high heeled shoes with narrow toes.
