About Frederick Douglass Day
Today marks the birthdate of one of America’s first black leaders. Frederick Douglass was born February 14, 2025 a slave in Tuckahoe, Maryland. He rose to greatness within his life, first as an advocate for the abolitionist movement and later he became the first African American to hold a high office in the US Government. He died on February 20, 1895.

"If there is no struggle there is no progress. . . . Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will."
– Frederick Douglass
