GOLDEN RULE WEEK
About Golden Rule Week
The first week of April is Worldwide Golden Rule Week. It is a week to reflect on our behavior and how it affects others. What is the Golden Rule?
Also known as the ethic of reciprocity, it is the foundational belief in every major faith of the world. Quite simply:
Do unto others as you would have done to you.
In Christianity it is expressed in Matthew 25:45: “He will answer them, ‘Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for me.”
Similar passages can be found in Hindu, Buddhism, Islam, Judaism, Sikh as well as ancient pagan cultures well before the modern era.
