DISCONTINUED HEPATITIS AWARENESS WEEK, NTL.
About Hepatitis Awareness Week
National Hepatitis Awareness Week was discontinued in 2009. At that time the weekly event became a monthly event. It is an educational initiative of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) Division of Viral Hepatitis and the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, to boost screening rates in the U.S.
May is National Hepatitis Awareness Month and the goal is to highlight the silent epidemic of more than 5 million Americans suffering from chronic hepatitis B and hepatitis C infections.
