About National Kite Month

Dedicated to the promotion and support of kiting, National Kite Month is a not-for-profit venture co-founded by the American Kitefliers Association and the Kite Trade Association International. Kite events around the world help introduce people to the fun of kite flying, the rich history of kites, the stunning artistry of kitemakers, and how kites can be used as educational tools.

The goal of National Kite Month is to create 600 kite events worldwide. Events can be small or large and can include local fun flies, kitemaking workshops, indoor flies, buggy races, kite displays in public libraries and malls, and school demonstrations.

Individual enthusiasts, local kite clubs, local service clubs, schools, parks and AKA or KTAI members can contact the National Kite Month Headquarters for assistance and logistical support in launching local kite events.
