About the Hindu observance of Magha Pumima
Magha Purnima or the day of glory of holy bath and austerity is observed during Magha month, a month devoted to charity. Magha Purnima is the final day of Magha Mahina. Rituals include offering alms to the poor, donating cow and Homa at Prayag, (the point where the rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati converge) and bathing in the sacred river waters each morning.
