MARFAN SYNDROME AWARENESS MONTH
February is Marfan Syndrome Awareness Month
Approximately 140 million people worldwide are affected by the genetic disorder known as Marfan syndrome. Marfan syndrome attacks cell structure, specifically the connective tissue holds all the body’s cells, organs and tissue together. Healthy connective tissue is essential in insuring a body grows and develops properly. This disease affects all areas of a persons body from what we see to the internal organs including the heart and lungs. Marfan Syndrome Awareness Month is about raising awareness to this disorder as well as financing research so that in the future no one will need to suffer.
