February is National Bird-Feeding Month

Created by Congressional decree in 1994, National Bird Feeding Month occurs each February during the height of winter when finding food for many birds is a difficult process. This event is celebrated by providing food, water, and shelter to help wild birds survive. Currently, one third of the U.S. adult population feeds wild birds in their backyards. Today, the National Bird-Feeding Society sponsors the event. Their website has moved from the web to Facebook.
