About Peanut Butter Lover's Day

This is one of two Peanut Butter Lover’s Events, an unofficial holiday. Peanut butter has existed since 1890 when St. Louis physician developed the idea of packaging peanut paste for people with bad teeth. Peanut paste was sold for six cents per pound.

Today it is a regular staple in school lunches…and prisons.
