About Sarswati Puja, Hindu Observance

Saraswati Puja is sometimes called the Vasant Panchami or Basant Festival of Kites. This is a holiday signifying the beginning of the holy season of Holi and is observed by both the Sikh and Hindu faiths in early February. The signature color of this event is yellow and it is one of two spring festivals of the Hindu faith. This festival is pays tribute to Maa Saraswati, the goddess of learning, wisdom, knowledge, fine arts, refinement, science and technology. This festival occurs 40 days before Holi and is one of the more popular celebrations for tourists given the custom of flying kites by children.
