About the Day the Music Died
On February 3, 1959, Richie Valens age 17, Buddy Holly age 22 and JP Richardson age 24 were three 1950s era Rock-n-Roll singers who died in a plane crash on their way to perform in another city. This night became known as The Day the Music Died and was later popularized in the song American Pie sung by Don McLean.
