National Weddings Month is an unofficial monthly observance honoring the work and legacy of St. Valentine. At the time of his martyrdom, he was a Bishop who illegally married couples in the 3rd Century AD Roman Empire. At the time, it was illegal for soldiers to marry as the emperor believed married men made bad soldiers. But, nothing can stop love and marriage is the ultimate expression of it.
