About National Women's Check-up Day
Sponsored by the US Department of Health and Human Services Office of Women’s Health, National Women’s Checkup Day occurs during Women’s Health Week Each year.
Women are encouraged to visit their health care provider for their annual checkup or well-woman visit to:
Discuss your health habits, family history, family planning, and more.
Get or schedule necessary screenings and exams.
Set health goals, such as weight loss and exercise.
This is the first year, with the addition of the Affordable Care Act that many women will be able to take advantage of the annual check up which is free under the new program for most Americans.
