CHILDREN'S DAY, INTL.
About International Cheerful Children\'s Day
"International Children's Day was first declared in 1925 at the World Conference for the well-being of Children in Geneva, Switzerland. The date varies around the world. In the United States this event is marked as National Children’s Day on the First Sunday of June as declared by President Bill Clinton in 1998. In other countries it can occur in May (3rd Friday in May for Jamaica) or later in June. The official international date is always June 1st. China is the largest country to celebrate this event on June 1st each year.
It is a day to celebrate children’s rights as well as focus on the joy of being a child. The United Nations sponsors a 2nd International Children’s Day in November. "
