LAURA DAWN LEWIS

Born in Rochester, New York, Laura Dawn Lewis is the eldest of two and grew up on the West Coast of the United States. She attended high school in Oregon and Brazil prior to graduating from Central Washington University with a BS in Marketing.

In 1989 she began working for the Washington Post's The Herald in Everett, Washington, first in circulation and later in advertising where she discovered her talents in art, photography and writing. She left in 1994, spending a year in radio at KZOK in Seattle; in 1996 began working for the Los Angeles Business Journal in advertising.

In 1999, Miss Lewis founded Couples Company, an online resource, community and publication based upon the Eight Stages of Intimacy. Concurrently she began consulting on marketing and sales strategy in addition to working with a partner based in the region covering humanitarian issues and current events in the Middle East under his name. Their coverage of these issues has won them over a dozen international journalism awards. In 2008, upon invitation she traveled to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and later to England to assist with research on an upcoming book covering the history of the region, oil and politics.

In January 2011 she merged Couples Company with two companies and turned her attention toward the book publishing industry.

Passionate about history, education and human rights and known for her creative thinking and intellectual curiosity, Miss Lewis currently resides in Los Angeles, California with her cat, Sinatra.
